Bergen: Gondola, Lunch & Stories
Ride the gondola to Mount Ulriken, enjoy a scenic lunch, and explore Bergen with a local guide.
Service Description
This small group tour includes a gondola ride to the top of Mount Ulriken, a scenic lunch with panoramic views, a short stop at the Fish Market, and a guided walk through local streets full of charm and stories – led by a Norwegian guide with deep local insight. We begin at the Blue Stone, a popular meeting point in central Bergen. From there, we take a short walk to the city’s historic Fish Market, where your guide introduces you to Bergen’s maritime heritage and its longstanding connection to trade, food, and the sea. Afterwards, we travel by Ulriken Express to the base of the mountain. Then we ascend by gondola – a spectacular ride with sweeping views over Bergen’s rooftops and the fjord far below. Throughout the experience, your guide shares insight into Norwegian life, culture, and traditions – shaped by personal experience and a strong connection to the region. At the summit, enjoy a scenic lunch with uninterrupted views of the cityfjord and the surrounding landscape. Back in town, we continue on foot through cultural landmarks and local streets that reflect Bergen’s identity and history. As the tour nears its end, your guide shares a remarkable story of love, betrayal, and cobblestone, followed by a drink in Bergen’s most unique wine cellar. Your guide is also happy to offer personalised suggestions for what to see, taste, and experience during the rest of your stay in Bergen.
